I use PO4X4 brand gfo because it is less messy and I use it in a reactor. I also just recently started to use Lanthanum chloride to bring my PO4 down from .13 to .06
I set up my reactor with about an inch of gfo and after a week it brought the PO4 down to .0 ( too low)
My question: I know from experience the gfo is still good for maybe a few more weeks and I would like to save it as I know the PO4 will start to rise again. Can I just turn off the reactor and leave it in the sump until I want to turn it on again? If for some reason this is not a good idea how else could I save this gfo.
Thanks for any experience you all may have on this subject.

You can but it will make h2s which is toxic. So just be sure you dont drain it into the tank when you use it again- drain it into a bucket.

GFO can become rock hard if not in motion so be mindful of this.
With such a small amount I would put it in a ziplock bag with some water to keep it.
