I am trying to stabilize my 90 gallons tank (hopefully mixed reef with a light load of fish) with a 20 gallons sump, the pump moves 1225 gph, Urchin C protein Skimmer running with 1500 Rio powerhead! Also dosing RedSea NO3PO4 X
and running a Phosban 150 reactor. Also I just added two 1150 gph Hydor powerhead controlled by by a Smartwave.
My Nutrient levels are PO4 0.02 PPM and NO3 still a bit stubbornly high 2-3 PPM.
I have read that the new generation of Bioplastic or Biopellets can effectively help on reducing and practically eliminate both Nitrates and Phosphates. Is that true?
So guys what do you think? Do I need an additional reactor to run the Bios separately? Or just perhaps a bigger reactor reactor to run a larger volume of Bioplastic/pellets?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Tony
