I have never used GFO before. I plan on getting it from BRS. Which is the best to use? The granular, pellets or is it worth spending the extra dough on the high capacity GFO which they advertise to remove twice as much as the others? Any one with a reccomendation?

You can get the high capacity but start with half the recommended amount. Even though you want your phosphates low, it can have negative effects if you lower them too fast.

I use the granular. I never have tried the high capacity. But no matter what you use start out slow for sure

Thanks for the input guys! Is the high capaicity worth the money or should I just forgoe it and get the regular stuff?

I've been using Chemi-Pure Elite. Love it but want to switch to the cheaper stuff from BRS.

rawaphos is the best imo... i hear the high capcity is good but still not as good as rawaphos... if your keeping sps and want them to thrive i would recommend the high dollar stuff...

according to BRS, granular is fine, you only want to pay the premium for the HC if you have a really really large tank and you cannot find a reactor big enough to use granular, then you pay the premium to use the HC on a smaller reactor. So if you get HC, you are paying premium on something extra that you don't need.

+1 on the Rowaphos. When i run GFO thats what i use, its great stuff but its a little on the pricey side but a little will go a long way with it.

Yes.....SPS is on the top of the pyrimid for me. Nothing beets the sight of a huge acro colony!

My system is 350g with a 270g DT. I don't know if that is considered small, medium or large LOL.

A little might go a long way but for how big of a system? When I had the 40b. It wasn't such a big deal getting the best of the best for that little thing but for this. I need something more economical.
