Ok I hooked up a gfo reactor to my 75gal. My phosphates are .50. Every three days I have to clean the glass. It has that green like dust. How soon will you see a difference from the gfo.

Depends on how much GFO you put in there and what the flow rate is. Should see your numbers going down within the first couple days.

I used a container from ro/di unit. It is half full of gfo with a mj1200. It is tumbling the gfo.

Tumbling with a MJ1200? Is it tumbling or at the ceiling?

Question regarding phosphates. I just read that phosphate testing kits measure phosphate, and what your controlling is organic phosphate.

You don't want gfo to tumble to much. Just a slight adjetation at the surface. Keep testing and keep track of your #'s and you will be able to get an idea on how long it might take. You will also be able to see if the amount will hold your # for you. I usually use about 1 cup gfo in a 150 reactor and change out around the month mark-i have stretched it to 2 being lazy and not fond of the results. I run a heavy stocked tank though so things will always be changing on you as it gets more and they get bigger.

You should just see it rumple the surface in the reactor. As stated by Johnson above. It doesn't require alot of flow. Once you have it in there, depending on what number your trying to bring down, you should see a number change in a couple days.
