Good evening

So I use saltwater from my pet store and always have. They use rodi to make there own saltwater.
Now I get high GH like very high and everything else is normal apart from slightly high (like a fraction) on ammonia

Is this OK or is something going wrong

Did you use a freshwater GH test? Or is that a typo and you meant KH? And what is "very high"?

I'm using api 800 test kit

Omg I actually have the wrong test kit. My wife picked it up yesterday so I'm going to take it back and get the correct one

So 11 dKH is a little higher than most people run it but not by too much. What are you using to measuring pH? 6.9 is low, but I have a suspicion that it may also be a testing error?

I'm using api 550 saltwater master test kit I might of done it wrong so I will test that again

Your wife got you test kits? That’s great! Having that support and interest will help your tank. API is not the most accurate. PH fluctuates during the day, test just before your lights turn on, and again in the middle of your light cycle. You may be surprised.

When I did it this earlier I did not put the right amount of drops in the test tube
