The fairly bad gha problem I had is almost gone. Thanks to you r2r folks! Through more frequent water changes, and phosphate remover in the filter, the stuff is turning brown and disappearing. How do I promote good algae without feeding the bad? Thanks !

a refugium or ats. a larger population in the sump will out compete the ones in the DT.

Thanks! I don't have a sump right now, but it seems that all fingers are pointing towards needing one. I have a 53 gallon tank, what would be a good one to get?

if you have room, look for a HOB refugium. they come in several sizes.
if you read some of randy F's articles its a great way to remove exess phosphates.
read Randy's phosphate in the reef aquarium.

oh and head ove to melevs reefs hes got great sum and refugium articles t get familiar with them.
