GHA identification

Hey guys, I have been battling this alage for 4 months. And I believe it may be linked to invert death as they slowly die after 18 days, I have done an ICP and it comes out fine I think they might be dying from starvation or the alage itself.

At the moment I feel like I am making progress but I cannot be sure.

Currently every week I syphon out what I can and scrub the rocks in the tank. Addition to this I have a 1000w light in my refergium to try and out compete what's growing in the tank.

I feel like less is growing but I cannot be sure.

Remove excess by hand as you've been doing, manage parameters, reduce white lighting, dosing love phyto. My 2 cents on the matter. Live phyto worked very well on my algae. Took a while but very beneficial all around instead of a miracle in a bottle product.

I recently upped my white lighting as I have been running blue only. Do you think I should turn them back off ? Was trying to promote some other type of alage to grow was the thought. I am actually in the process of culturing phyto

You need a grow light in your sump. Like this one it will work.

I have a 1000w grow light some power as a street light

Try reef flux (fluconazole). It takes about 2-4 weeks to work. Also, how many critters in your cleanup crew per gallon?

Tried it didn't do a single thing to it. I have zero they die after 18 days

Just asking due to jnvert death. Which is weird because I see your BTA which seems fine. Definitely want to get a CuC in there. I always recommend the packages from reefcleaners.org ordered multiple times and always happy.

Spent a few hundred on cuc for while now they just die why I would like to ID this alage I feel it might be toxic

This is GHA and you have to take a few steps to get this all cleaned up.
Pull as much as you can by hand (more the better)
Reduce white light intensity and amount of hours of white light for 2 weeks
Add 1ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons at night

* ASSURE PHOSPHATE LEVEL not ELEVATED

Add snails such as :
Astrea - Turbo- nerite-Nassarius-fighting conch

10-12 Carribean blue leg hermits (these are Tiny)
Pencil urchin or two ( acclimate well to tank)

BY ANY CHANCE, IS THIS TANK AT OR NEAR A WINDOW?

Thanks heaps it is in a room with a window but it's not massively impacted by it.
I currently dose phosphate and nitrate to keep levels above zero.

Should the H202 be spot treated or dumped into the sump? Does this effect any livestock?

As suspected- this looks like exposure to sun and UV. UV is very strong and will penetrate blind0curtains and shades.
I recommend some black construction paper from Walmart (97 cents and 30" X 30") and block the side of tank that faces window. You will see a reduction of algae potential within 21 days.
The window lighting is literally feeding this algae.

They way the room is built it's not really possible

is this my only option?

@vetteguy53081 as you can see I am unable to shield the tank from sunlight, and a barrier is not an option. Do you have any ideas why the inverts are dying ? I'll start a H202 treatment is there anything I should look out for ? I will also see if hermits survive but we cannot get blues in Australia
