GHA in refuge. Keep or remove?

I have had very long Green Hair Algae(GHA) swirling around the area water enters my refugium for nearly a year. Absolutely none of it is making it to display tank. It is REALLY thick and dark.


Is my chaeto competing with it for nutrients? I have very low nitrate now. It was around 40 when tank was born and slowly got to a ~zero reading eventually.

Should I let alone or remove it?

Remove as much as you can. Yes, it out competes with the chaeto.

Agreed, remove it. Its taking nutrients away from your chaeto
