GHA issue continues

are u using rodi water. after I switched I got no more GHA. was using tap beforehand. GHA died rather fast after the switch and ive been doing sand vaccuming to clean up the debris (it dies and sits on bottom). it sounds like yours is coming in from another nutrient source, the food sounds very minimal if you are running skimmer and/or chaeto.

Yes I use RODI water, never used tap water. I vacuumed sand over other water change.

Definitely coming from something, but can't figure out what.

Did you start with dry pukani rock? Phosphates could be leaching from the rock. Be careful not to lower nutrients to absolute zero, or you can be dealing with what i’m battling... algae AND dinos. I also found that using a turkey baster to blow off the rocks daily helps. Algae will collect detritus which fuels growth.
