Been dealing with this gha outbreak for 2 months it seems like none of my tangs/lawnmower blenny/foxface magnificent touch it they love nori though hah, it’s been controlled by vacuuming the rocks every month.. nitrates at 5 salifert phosphates at 0.04-0.06 ulnr Hanna. Feeding rods food every other day (quarter size). Got the algae bloom from neglect for 3 months phosphates were 0.03 nitrates 0. Since then I haven’t been able to eradicate it. I ordered 12 turbo snails and 12 astrea snails for my 100 gallon. And two tuxedo urchins however someone stole the package during transit (it got lost) according to UPS. My magnesium is also around 1340.. alk 8.4 ca 450. It doesn’t look anywhere near bryopsis Any suggestions besides nuking the tank? Forgot to mention refugium filled with cheato growing with h380 kessil

I just recently got rid of my hair algae with this: https://premiumaquatics.com/products/reefhd-reef-flux.html

Look up reefhd reef flux here on the forums and see what other reefers have to say. I didn’t start seeing results till about day seven and I also cranked up my lights. Looks like they absorb the medicine better with strong lighting. (Also don’t be a moron like me and break the pills and dump the content into tank)

I’ve heard mixed results with treating gha with Fluconazole treatment, I know it does well with bryopsis.. you didn’t mix it into water before dumping it onto the tank I’m assuming?

Nope, I have a hob refugium and just dumped it in there. It just takes longer to kill gha than it does with bryopsis. Plus I’m just glad I no longer have to stare at gha. Another thing was it’s just $15.

So tempting ahh!!!! How much will I need for 100 gallon? Do I need to do water change after ?

So every pill is 20 gallons and the bottle comes with 10 pills. After 14 days, you can start doing water changes.

For the last part, I didn’t break the pills and just put them into my refugium. So I had pieces of the capsule floating around.

I had a gha outbreak and used dinox . It killed the gha but it came back. The lfs told me i needed some crabs. So i bought 50 crabs for a 110 gallon tank. They ate it all in a few days. And havent had gha since. Its been a couple months now.
