GHA on my snail

I've had a battle with GHA before, but through managing nutrient export and vibrant, I've managed to get rid of it.... Except on my snail. Itching to pull it out and get at it with a toothbrush, but don't want to do inadvertent harm. Will a few minutes out of water harm it? If i rinse it under rodi water?

I've had the same thing happen with some of my snails. It eventually went away and now they have coralline algae instead.

Scrub it in a dish of tank water, then toss the water.
When you take it out of the tank, make sure it retracts into the shell so you don't scrub the flesh.
It looks like a trochus snail? If so, poke at it until it retracts and closes the operculum, then hold a finger over it to keep it safe.
