So the question is what 2 do? I thought about placing them in the sump in a dark area for a week to get rid of it. Or should I just peroxide dip them and scrub?

My peppermint snail cleaned some gha off my new zoas. Do you have a cuc that could do the job?

Yah there's tons of stuff that should be taking care of it in my tank but there not!

Try a hydrogen peroxide dip.
First brush off as much algae as you can with a soft tooth brush, then 30% HP to 70% tank water for 5 minutes.
Rinse in a container of tank water, then hold the frag in the flow of a powerhead for 15-20 seconds to make sure there is no HP still on the frag

This is what I always do and never had a problem. place them in a bowl with tank water and slowly add hydrogen peroxide until you start to see the frag bubbling. I let them sit 5-10 min the they get a 10 min lugol dip and done. May not open for a day but never had any losses with my zoas and the algae is always gone sometimes next day.

I agree with mfinn. 2 parts water 1 part Hydrogen peroxide. You'll be amazed! I've got a small rock of Zoa's that weren't looking so good. Dipped them in above mixture for about 2-3minutes and BAM!! Today they're looking awesome [emoji7]

Hydrogen peroxide will kill it on the plug. But if you have it in your tank also it will just come back. You might want to try some phosphate removing media.

My phosphates and nitrates are low. It just came in on a frag of zoas and I want it gone.

Gha agreed? This is in peroxide dip

Anyone wanna comment on what I think is gha is actually gha? Lol. Alot of it looks the same 2 me. Specially in small amounts.

Idk it's not hard to pull off but won't come off by just using a turkey baster

Btw the peroxide hasn't killed it yet. Dipped them last night and it's still holding on tonight. Funny part is I noticed it when I got the frags but i think my foxface was controlling it. The foxface stung me a few weeks ago so he got traded in at the lfs. I'm gonna pick up a mimic tang here in a couple days so I think the mimic will get 2 work if I have any other problems. I watched one of my cortez crabs crawl right over the frag also. Lol. My dang potters angel, purple or tomini tang don't even look at the stuff. I think my fish are spoiled.

Well the peroxide definitely worked. Zoas seem a bit bleached from the dip. Took about 4 days and all was gone. Pretty awesome actually.

Mine didn't either. Peroxide dips are the way to go if it can be removed from the tank. Most cases 1 dip is enough for me sometimes 2.
I wish mine did bud I got probably 25 or so they crawl right over it laughing.

Peroxide is Stressful on Zoanthids.

I would try to avoid it if all possible.

I got Hair Algae on Zoanthids in my 20 Gallon Frag Tank.

I got 10 Tiger Trochus Snails.

In 3 Days time they Polished all the Frags and Rock Clean.

There was not a Speck of Hair Algae Left in the Tank.

Some people call Tiger Trochus "The Cadillac of Snails" and are the only Snails that I use.

I Highly Highly Recommend them.

They move fast, devour Hair Algae, can be breed in the home aquarium, and they can flip themselves over unlike those worthless Astrea Snails that all the LFS sell.

I do not know why people even buy them.

Not worth it to save a few cents.

You can flip them over 10 Times a Day and they Still will Die on you.

Always buy Tiger Trochus Snails.
