Hang in there... GHA is almost a guarantee part of every cycle... and unfortunately can come back at any time, especially when there's a spike in protein.

I had a perfectly clean tank and went away on a biz trip only to come back to a huge die off due to some unfortunate circumstances. And now have GHA and bryosi all over...

My urchins have done a good job cleaning up the mess but now just a matter of waiting it out with slow water changes and light control... :/

Tank is around 6 and half months old now I think. Would that still be apart of the cycle? Got a new skimmer coming Monday so hopefully that will help a little.
Are you picking yours out as well? I attempted to but it just came back

The GHA will come back so as long as there's excess nutrients in the water and the right conditions.

And unfortunately, it can come back at any time especially if you have a heavy bioload either from feeding or lots of fish pooping or both.

The skimmer will definitely help, though.

I pick some of th e algae off in my tank occasionally when it gets too think.. not to remove it really but to make it easier for my limpets and urchins to chow down closer to the surface and clear it up...

Clean tooth brush works great for GHA. A good clean up crew will help maintain the tank once you get it under control.

your problem is water movement and you need cleaning crew like blue legs crabs

I’m going to do extra water changes and try scrubbing it with the brush. Definitely in need of the skimmer, as mine right now isn’t working properly even after taking it out and cleaning it.

Can’t get hold of any blue legged hermits around me, only option is buying online but shipping price is ridiculous

Current cleanup crew includes nassarius, trochus and sea cucumber

If you find pink emerald crabs, grab every one of them. These and Hawaiian zebra hermit crabs are the best are getting the work done.

If you don't mind sacrificing some coralline algae, urchins are great at keeping the rocks clean of algae too... I have a bunch of them in my tank personally

I forgot to ask you how old are your lights they probably have too much yellow in them
