Hey guys, i am in the process of shutting a tank down to transfer to a new tank, new rock and sand, just fish and coral, but i want to ensure i avoid bringing this algae with me, so want to deal with it, but i can’t decide if it is GHA or Bryopsis. I am leaning to GHA, however would like more expert opinions before taking more action than just pulling it out.

Thanks!

GHA is usually slimy. This looks Brillo like. I vote for bryopsis.

Thanks JGT. Bryposis was my initial thought too. Anyone else have any thoughts as to which type this is?

From my experience it looks more like GHA but I am by no means an expert.
Here is what Bryopsis looked in my tank:

Looks a bit more bushy and feathery then yours?

Thanks guys, It looks like GHA to me, however there are some strands that are kinda feathery which on the other hand makes me think it is Bryposis! Ah well, I shall go down the path of treating for GHA and see how I go. Thanks all!

I dosed Fluconazole and got rid of both, and I didnt experience any ill effects on any other livestock.
