Hey guys, I am currently going through a GHA outbreak for a few weeks now. Im suspecting my cause is a combination of flow, lighting and detrius build up. I think I had way to much rock that impeded flow in my system . I want to break up the rock as my tank is 6 months old..If i do so, will that leach more phosphates/ammonia into my system? I plan on doing a water change in the future and breaking it up in the bucket and re-doing my aquascape. What are the pros/cons of doing this..can I do it all?

I would remove the unwanted rock over a period of a few weeks. Phosphates aren't much of an issue, but on a younger system like this you do not want to risk an ammonia spike.
If you have a healthy refugium you have less risk of an ammonia spike and can remove the rock more quickly.

I'm not gonna remove it, I'm gonna break it up and re-glue it together to have different sections to get better flow.

Not a problem then. Do you run filter socks to catch any particles that come loose?
