GHA TREATMENT PLAN

First saltwater tank/ reef tank. 11 months old. Had cyano, treated with rx. Cyano gone. Few weeks later, gha outbreak. Test ffg or phos, nitrate, both show zero. Gha is masking I presume. Protien skimmer running wet. Started using no3/po4 x to reduce levels that I believe r there. Thinking of doing 12% hydrogen peroxide treatment. Thoughts. Parameters on tank:
75 gal tank + 20 gal sump
Sg. 1.025
Ph. 8.1
Cal. 400
Alk. 8
No nitrites or ammonia
Using bag of carbon in sump and bag of chemi pue blue. Feed 1 mysis cube every 3 days for 8 fish.
Cuc. 15 red legged crab, 3 emeralds, 4 turbos, 1 lm benny
2 1300gph power heads and 2 850 gph power heads 2 on each side of tank blowing across and upwards to surface.

Id skip the h202 treatment for gha. What are you using to test no3 and po4?

and what values are you getting? Any herbivore fish? As long as its actually gha and not gta. I have had luck with dwarf angels and others with bristletooth tangs. Turf algae is hit or miss with me, usually nothing touches it and i end up manually scrubbing the rock with a brush.

Salifert test. Both read 0. Lawnmower benny, blue tang. Recommendations?

I would also get some more snails. A bunch of astreas and cerths. Maybe reduce the time your lights are on.

I'v done the hydrogen peroxide in the past. It can cause some damage if you get a little to aggressive

Does the peroxide method work? Lights run 8 hrs low op.

It does, but I have had some corals and fish that didn't like it also. I have also used some other marine herbicide that worked also.
When I have done it with a clean up crew and some extra herbivores it usually takes less than a month to get it under control.
