Hi guys, So i have a massive gha/turf problem. I have tried everything tank is 3yo. run pretty much zero nutrients for over a year .... no dice. recently tried what ever that "magic juice" is didnt work. I AM JUST FINISHING MY SECOND B2B ROUND OF FLUCONAZOLE. IT LITERALLY DID NOTHING.
Either over it or leaving the hobby after 19 years.
SOOOOO....
my plan is to drain tank 100% spray ALL affected areas with H202 then refill. Bring fuge back online, bring skimmer back online(which also means ci2 scrubber will comeback online) run gfo/gac mix. i am wondering if I should cover the sps coral that o cannot remove with something to avoid the dry out.

vibrant was the "magic juice"
I have refugium with kessil h380. massive power. it so annoying bc my sps get soooo ticked at low no3 and po4.

I've had success with manual removal. It does take a while, but it works. You can use a toothbrush to brush off and then use a fish net to scoop out large clumps and then let the rest get captured by floss or socks in the sump. I used mesh socks because they were easier to clean. I've done this on two separate occasions, both of which were successful.

Missing:

Pre scrape all of it out first with a steak knife tip, hours detail, price of wait but can be won

When rock is dental cleaned then apply peroxide in former spots. Let sit several mins out of water, rinse off. Set all back in a cleaned tank, sandbed rip cleaned. Drop the light intensity down a few days after re assembly and all your corals will skip cycle. This cleaning doesn't harm your cycle It's well tested already, nice game plan we like

I used Kents TechM (which is mag additive) and bumped mag up to 1800 for a month & GHA literally dissolved.

cannot remove rock

Id Rather NOT remove rocks. i will do as much manual removal as i can. I let it just go over past 4 weeks with the b2b fluconazole treatment.
i have a trigger platinum sump so it is roller mat. no socks or mash to mess with

This definitely works, but it is a huge pain in the rear.

Need to see a picture to get a handle on the severity really.

What helped with my GHA issues was a sea hare. He mowed my algae issues like a boss. Unfortunately they’ll die with no food. I tried algae sheets with no luck. Had him kept my tank clean for 2-3months until he ran out of food. I could not find a place to rehome him. He just started shrinking until I guess he starved him self to death.

what a difference! 24hrs after, as much manual removal as i could do with one brute of nsw. then emptied tabk down to where my FF was swimming diagonal. sprayed all rock with h202 taking care around sps colonies that could not be removed. LPS were removed. Everything is rightly ticked right now. we will see if sps colonies come back.
skimmer back online, CO2 scrubber back online, GAC/GFO back online. Going to Shop to get some chaeto to bring fuge back on line for FULL reverse photo.
Will be making new water to bring 1Gall/day AWC back online, will monitor values (trident) to bring alk/Ca back online.

Gotta reduce lighting intensity by forty percent or so a couple days, ramp back slowly, best practice for coral rehab after cleaning runs

was thinking about that.
plus would give chaeto and chance to get itself in charge
