Curious about the Mitras 7206 series lights from GHL. Is anyone using them on their tanks? If so, what do you think of them? Would you recommend them? Pros, cons?

I love mine. Control and the exact color spectrum is awesome. I'm no pro at them and all my SPS died from my dino outbreak well before I got these. I'm surprised more people aren't using them!

@d2mini was using them before the the switch to FW tanj

I would love to see a heads up of the Mitras vs Radion and Orphek. The Mitras do intrest me too but not enough to replace my radions... Yet.

Biggest problem is GHL is a German company and they don’t sell or support their products in the USA as much as say Ecotech. So since not allot of places sell it and support except 1 guy. You won’t see much of the product. You can have the very best product but if you can’t support it or get it in places to sell it, then it’s doomed.

Very happy with mine. Recently added the Aquatic Life T5 Hybrid to get additional coverage with the Mitras as well. Very nice combination.

Would love to see some pics of them in action.
Not mine... a fellow reefer I met in a FB group

I like the rock work! That ought to look really nice filled out with corals. I was doing a 280 gallon build and was going to do the Mitras for my lighting. Had to cancel my build for a while though. Seems I will be doing a reboot on the build in the next couple of months.going to make the tank larger though now. 72"L x 32"W x 32"H

I'm just wondering how many I would need on a 320 gallon tank? I would venture to guess 4-5 right?

I'm setting up a Reefer 3XL 900. Dimensions are 79"x25"x25". I'm doing 4x Mitras 7206 and 2x GHL Lightbars Deep Actinic. I think this will be just enough for me. Will only know in a month or 2 when it's set up. Got a PAR meter to check.

Hi Guys.

Thinking about to buy me also GHL lights.
Using at the moment 2 radion g3 pro. Actually my corals are happy with the light. But there are some issues I doesn't get solved.
So I'm happy with some feedback about the lights.
also wondering how many I'll need.
My tank has about the same size as a reefer 250.
Will 2 7204 be enough, or will I need 2 7206 lights.
Have about 90% sps, acropora corals.

Hi. I recently knew about the possibility of combining the LX7 with some T5 by means of the Aquatic Life Hybrid. Would it be possible to see some picts of your set up? The Mitras can be set in either orientation? Right now I have three fixtures

I have 6 of the 7260 s on a 180 gal at 72 X 24 X 24 and those are more than enough. I have 2 braces at 2' intervals, so I had to do it in multiples of 3. I started with 3 lights and that would have been good enough, but my 8" canopy placed the lights so close to the water that spread was not good enough. I added 3 more and only run them at 60% max. Love the lights!

My suggestion for you assuming you don't have height or brace issues like I did is to go for 2 or 3 of the 7204 s ( 3-4 7204 s are more flexible placement wise than just 2 7206 s) and see if that is enough PAR and spread. Add one or two more until you are happy:)

I love my mitras also. But just a heads up. The programming is like a android. Not like a easy all done for you Apple. So you have to be a little tech savvy.
