Hi Folks,

I am looking at the GHL doser, but have a problem. I don't have a cell phone, and need to run the doser with either an Apple iPad or Apple MacBook Pro laptop. Does anyone know if the GHL is compatible with Apple software? If not GHL, are any other dosers able to run off Apple software?

I would greatly appreciate hearing from any of you who experience running a doser with Apple software!! I am having a hard time getting a definitive answer on this situation.

Also, I have an Apex and are there any dosers which I could run with this controller?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Gary

Also, if I can't run the doser 2.1 off of Apple operating systems, could I connect it to the Neptune Apex and write a program to run it from there?

You don't need a phone, you said you have an ipad.

I run my GHL off my Iphone, Ipad, PC and Macbook.

Granted, on the mac it's only via the web interface, if I need to connect the device directly (only had to once or twice) it needs windows. I still do this on the mac, but using Parallel emulator.

Hi ReefPig! Thanks so much for your reply!! I apologize for my ignorance, but are you able to use their software for programming the doser with the iPad and MacBook? Or does using their software require you to connect directly(hardwired?) to windows?

Sorry again for more questions, but I'm a bit sketchy on the wifi!!

I've never used any of the GHL standalone products, meaning without a Profilux.

I believe you don't need a PC, that you can connect it to wifi using a device and after this you use the GHL (MyGHL) app.
It's the connecting it to wifi i'm uncertain how it's done, as I've never done that.

I have in the past had to connect my Profilux to windows (but i did this on a mac with parallels).

Just read the manual for it, sure it's clear enough, GHL instructions are normally pretty good.

I'm just realizing I should have mentioned I want to use the SA doser without the Profilux. I've looked at the manual, but am still unsure how it works.

Thanks again for your help!!

You can connect to any of the GHL SA products via a browser. On set up, they create their own hotspot, which you can connect to with a browser (and change to your own Wi-fi if you wish).

Follow the set up guide and you can then connect to MyGHL cloud and control from any browser.

I configured mine on a Mac

I have as Apex system and just finished setting up the SA GHL 2.1 today, using Windows PC. You will need a PC to set up the GHL Doser to it's wifi setting so it can automatically connect to your network. Once It's set up via wifi you will need to connect your doser to your account "the cloud", then you will be able to use the app on your Apple products.

Read their instructions (you'll have to download the PDF manual/quick setup guide). Also watch the YouTube videos,
GHL Advanced Technology. Some will have difficulty setting up the unit but once it's set up using the app is straight forward.

Have you reviewed Neptunes DOS system?

You don’t need to use a Windows PC or the GHL connect app any longer.

You can set up via a browser, phone or tablet by connecting to the wireless hotspot it creates.

i set mine up with a MacBook and an iPad for the Profilux :)

Good to know for my future purchases
