GHL Doser 2.1!

So GHL is coming out with an update on the Doser 2. It is called the 2.1 and has the ability to run continuously. Cool!

Thanks to the high quality technology inside the compact and modern GHL Doser 2.1, it not only provides precise and simple dosing, but it also includes many more features.

The LED illuminated GHL Logo in the housing serves as a status indicator. It displays the condition of your aquarium by displaying various colors and tells you when something requires your attention.

The GHL Doser 2.1 is available as a Standalone Unit, as well as a Slave Unit.

Doser 2.1 features new motors which can be run continuously and is perfect for dispensing larger volumes of fluid. Perfect for AWC and large volume ATO functions.

So I wonder if this could be used as a calrx feed pump then if it's capable of 24-7 operation.

anyone know if GHL Doser 2 can be used with a Doser 2.1 slave ?

Shouldn't be a problem as the change had to do with heavy duty motor addition plus new style pump head.

Anyone know if there is an upgrade path from 2 to 2.1? If not a front panel/motors/heads, then maybe the ability to upgrade one of the 4 slots to the new 2.1 motor/head. This would be a great option for those that own the doser 2 and would like to use the 4th channel for ATO/AWC.

I have asked and there is no upgrade from 2 to 2.1. You can install doser 2 pumps in the extra slots in your Doser 2. But you can not install Doser 2.1 pumps in the doser 2 unit. You can still use the doser 2 for AWO and ATO thou.

The sad part is that the only reason I really want the 2.1 is for the sweet looking blue pump heads/better motors and the ability TO do all the stuff they can do, but have no intention of actually using it for. Just another case of buying the latest and greatest product, then having a newer product released soon after

At least it's not just me. I bought my Doser 2 (which is the best doser I've ever had and wouldn't trade it for the world) and then I started seeing pictures here and there (like in the GHL Control Center icon) of the doser with these blue pump heads... all I could think was (omg I want those blue heads! I actually attributed it to a prototype or early product run that was transparent to show the inner features of the heads and that the white Thomas heads were just the final production. Now I'm really bummed. This only really means I need to find a way to justify adding another doser lol.
