I read another thread on this topic, but have some specific questions I'm unsure about. I looked on the GHL website, but the info is kind of vague.

I would like to change about 1.5 gallons daily in my 125 spread out over several times daily. I would be utilizing a large container on wheels, as I don't have space (or plumbing/drainage) for a dedicated WC station. The drain line would have to go vertically about 7.5' through a false ceiling and about 30 feet total length back down to a floor drain. I'd like to remove and replace water at the same time. I use the Tunze osmolator for ATO, and don't want to have to turn it off for water changes. So my questions are:
1. Can the Maxi be set for multiple changes daily with both pumps running simultaneously? Kind of a set and forget type of thing.
2. In case of power failure, will it remember the time and settings?
3. Can it be set manually or remotely, and does the wi-fi interface come with?
4. From what I understand, max head pressure is not an issue, but should I match the input line height to the drain line to get equal water in to water out? (probably a stupid question)
5. Anyone else do something similar?
6. I this a really bad idea?
I'm sure there are things I'm not addressing. Any input good or bad would be much appreciated.

I don't have all the answers but I can fill in a few, the MAXI is almost the same as the 2.1 (which is what i have) on a lot of fronts.

Absolutely, you can setup a daily schedule in the app or on your computer (I find the computer a little easier).

2. In case of power failure, will it remember the time and settings?

Definitely. Once the power comes back on it will resume its regular schedule.

3. Can it be set manually or remotely, and does the wi-fi interface come with?

Scheduling takes place on the My GHL app or on the control center on the computer. The Doser can manually dose with a button on the Doser itself but schedules are all done with the above methods.

4. From what I understand, max head pressure is not an issue, but should I match the input line height to the drain line to get equal water in to water out? (probably a stupid question)

The lines do not have to match although ideal, you can calibrate each head individually once setup and this will adjust for the different tubing lengths

5. Anyone else do something similar?

@Ditto @WWIII And I believe @Brew12 are doing something similar

6. I this a really bad idea?

I don't think it's a bad idea atall. I would just try and make sure the lines aren't pulling and dosing in the same area of the sump.

Oh I'll also add that this is all assuming you purchase a Stand Alone MAXI and not the slave, a slave will require the Profilux 4 controller or another GHL Stand Alone Doser (2.1 or another) to control it. :)

I don't have a Maxi, but you pretty much nailed it. The Maxi doser was designed for automatic water changes.

First off, let me apologize for not responding. For some reason, I never got any notifications that my thread had been replied to. This sounds like exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you all so much!

i do exactly as you describe! it works great! ato doesnt operate at all during water change. i also have the maxi add a little extra to compensate for the kh directors sample that gets taken 3 times a day. i have it start at 7pm and do 1000ml every hour till 2am.

once the doser is calibrated and the line is primed it is very accurate. i have about 25ft of line attached to my removal pump to get it to the drain and have seen no issues. i am a transitioning apex user and bought the maxi as my first ghl item and have been really pleased with it!
