GHL Profilux - Moon Simulation

I'm contemplating upgrading my reefkeeper elite V2 to GHL Profilux or Apex. Just want to make sure that the Profilux also does moon simulation. I know they have the Mitras-Simu-Stick but can I make my own moon string lights like the reefkeeper or Apex and connect that to the GHL using one of the LED controllers?

You can always just plug your LED in one of the power at sockets and program the time it runs.
