Ghost feeding shrimp

I'm doing the nitrogen cycle on my reef saver rock i start off buy put a store bought shrimp in the ziplock bag with holes in it. I did it yesterday now my ammonia is at 4.0 ppm when should i take the shrimp out?

4ppm Is pretty high, I never let my ammonia get above 2. Some people cycle as high as 5 so I wouldn't stress, but I would remove the shrimp and let it cycle through.

2-4 is the general range. did you start with live rock or dry rock? using a shrimp is never accurate or advised.
