Hi all,

I turned off my powerhead today and I saw what I can only describe as a giant louse thing for about 1 second (no chance to take a photo, obviously). I'd not seen it before. This was not a copepod, it was about 0.5mm - 1cm in size, a slight curve to the 'spine' and thicker at one end than the other. I have absolutely no idea what it is. Any help or photos of potential matches would be amazing. I recently bought some macroalgae from a local guy who breeds all sorts of stuff so it may have come from him.

member of the pods family. Good thing, youre fish will love them ;)

Jesus. Didn't realise they get that big. I was squinting up close on the rock then saw it move - was a shock!

Sometimes you are looking for information for someone and find something unexpected.

You may have to call Orkin

How Did I Get Amphipods?
These tiny pests may enter homes after heavy rainfall.

This is a joke
The web page is real

I have seen ones in my tank that are close to a cm. The vast majority of them are around 2mm though
