"Giant" Phyto culture tank

I am trying to design a giant phytoplankton culture out of a ten gallon tank to feed my lot of filter feeders --and save money--. I have two designs but can't think of which would be better. Both would be fed water from the drain on my tank, then --when large enough-- later be partially drained to my tank and refilled with the dirty water. Also, tank A would have an airline tied to the pump so that air gets pumped into the tank still. Here is my two designs I am hoping on feedback for. I uploaded it and added a google drive link

Couldnt a few rouge zooplankton from your dt make it to your phyto chamber causing mass depletion of phyto (and increase in zooplankton)?

Do you plan on using more than one type of phytoplankton? From what I've read, one can out compete the other.

Currently looking at diy culture stations myself.

Contamination/ cross contamination from your system water may cause a crash in your culture. Using fresh mixed saltwater is preferred. Keeping your culture containers sterile prior to use is important as well, as is keeping outside contaminants out too.

Thanks everyone, I didn't even think of cross contamination or rouge zooplankton. I'll just set up a separate tank and put it on doser into the tank.
