Giesemann Aurora 60" Help Please - No Power

Hello,

I just set up my giesemann aurora for the first time but can't get the thing to turn on. Is there any trick to these things I'm missing? I have a 240 transformer for the T5 as required but no luck. The LED lights on the PSUs for the led fixtures are not coming on as i believe they should. I have 3 of the 4 T5 lamps installed since one broke during shipping - that wouldn't stop the led fixtures from running would it?

Looks like the power supply indicator lights aren't coming on when plugged in. Should these be on?

Bump, anyone? Really stuck here. I've got the Aurora completely torn apart looking for the problem. Found that one of the T5 ballasts had the silicon holding it down come loose during shipping which cause the ground wire to pull out. Got that reconnected but still no luck. I now have all 4 brand new T5 bulbs installed with good connection / rotated 90 degrees.

If anyone could please answer the following that would really help narrow down the problem:

• When plugging in the light should the lights come on or do you have to go into the bluetooth settings to turn it on?
• When I plug in the LED power supplies I do not see the power indicator led on them illuminating. Is this normal or should they be on? My current hunch is a problem with the power supplies based on this.
• Would a problem with either the T5s or LEDs prevent the other from working? I find it odd that I can't get either the T5s or LEDs to work given the separate power connections.

Problem solved! In case anyone else runs into this issue, there's a switch inside each of the LED power supplies to select input voltage. Regardless of the box being clearly labeled as for US standard, they were both set to 230v for Europe. Switched them over to 115v and everything works perfect.

Sweet! So why are you running a step up/down transformer?

Although the LEDs have switchable power supplies, the T5 requires a 230v input with no option (I believe this only applies to the 60" version from what I gather). See tag on T5 power line sticker above.

Interesting... I did not know that about the 60".

Yup, a lot of equipment needed to run this thing with two external LED power supplies and another 3rd party transformer required. Per BRS:

"Note: 60" Aurora-Hybrid lights will require a step-down transformer for the T5 lamps that is included. The T5 plug will need to be plugged into the transformer to bring the voltage down from 240v to 120v."
