I'm trying to figure out how to connect the lighting from my Giesemann unit to the ballast. Can anybody tell based on these pics?

Here's the other side of the ballast that connects the ballast to the wall.

Metal halide (HQI) wiring:

The halide wires from the connection above (pic) goes to the ballast with the plug to the ballast.
The part with the plug that goes to the wall goes from the ballast to the wall.

The T5 wires need to be wired separately.

Just to make sure you are follow me on this...
The connection in the picture below is very wrong!
That black wire connected with the fixture in the picture below, with the wall plug on the end, actually goes from the ballast to the wall.

You see that black inlet on the ballast (pic below)? There is where the energy gets out of the ballast to go to the fixture, to be connected to another wire with the special plug for that inlet, wiring like in the picture I posted before.

Then you need to connect the T5s with another wire.

I'm not sure why the wire was cut there, but you'll need to do it right.

Thank you, A. grandis!

The picture with the 3 wires cut near the ballast is an old one that I had laying around to use as an example. I have 2 other ballasts that are not cut.

You're welcome. Then just follow my first post here on wiring.

The T5s' wiring needs it's own connection, as it show in the diagram. Not only for timers' sake, but it shouldn't be connected to the MH ballast. Good diagram. Thanks for sharing!

So here's a picture of one of my other ballasts that I'll be using. If I cut this cord, you would see the green, white, and black wires like in my first photo. In my previous setup, this plug connected from the mogul. The other side of the ballast went to the wall. Maybe I'm confused, but it looks like this is contrary to what @A. grandis said.

Here's a picture from the unit that it was used on and it looks like it came pre-equiped with the proper plug. Can I cut off this part of the cord and reuse it on the Giesemann?

Yeah, that's right!
The other side connects to the wall then.
Sorry, I've got confused!
Yes, the wire to connect to the inlet of pic below actually goes to the wall.

Here is a diagram I made a while back, as I always forget things like this. This is for Giesemann T5 MH

I know you don't have to be an electrician to understand this, but from this diagram, it looks like I would splice the green/yellow line and one would go to the MH ballast and the other with the T5 cord to the wall?

Yes, I hate the idea that they wouldn't provide that wire for the T5s included. The Giesemann fixture I have came with the T5 wired to the fixture already.
Can you post pics of that fixture?
Is that really a Giesemann?

Buy this to connect the ballast to the fixture:

If you cut the cord from the other fixture you can't use/sell it.

The other cord, to connect to the wall, should already come with the ballast.
Do you have that?

So nice that white Spectra!!!! Oh man! Beautiful!!
Yes, see... the ballast already has the cord to the wall right there.
Get a new cord for each ballast-fixture connection, and you're all set!

Don't forget to connect the T5s to the wall as well.
Cheers!
