Hello, I have a 200 gallon Elos, 63" x 31.5" x 23.5".
I liked to choose between a:
48" Giesemann Moonlight 2x250w MH and 4x54w T5 fixture
& 60" ATI Powermodule 10x80w.
I want to keep SPS/LPS/and Clams.

+ Geisemann for top quality and finish
+ Geisemann because of mh combo

- ran 60" t5's once, they were expensive and a PITA to find someone with them in stock and ended up keeping spares in the closet

I would go with the MH & T5 combo myself. I have an all T5 system on my 125 and MH & T5 combo on my 220 and the colors and growth (especially SPS) don't come close in the T5 tank IMO/IME.

those ATI pm fixtures r famost stronger than 2x250MH....i hve seen them in person... but u got to be carefull with those....they can even burn sps very easily

I Love shimmer of MH but I just hate that you cant play with the color as much. With T5s I usually will run 5 ATI blue plus and 2 ATI purple plus and 1 ATI AquaBlue Special. But I hate how flat look T5s are. Are there any really good blue metal halides that dont lack par?

14k Phoenix are the only MH bulbs I will run anymore. I have tried them ALL.

Yep. LOL. I just replaced the Radiums after 6 months with Phoenix. I have tried Iwaki, Radium, Ushio, Hamilton and XM.

I'm not sure if it does put out more PAR or not. I don't have a meter. It "looks" brighter in my tank than the others did. It is on the blue side but not like the Radiums or Ushio. It has a "crisp" white with a slightly blue tint to my eyes. I run 4x54W ATI blue+ also, so overall my tank has a lot of blue in it.

Yeah, I would plan to use 4 blus plus T5s if I chose MH because I think it will push it to around a 25k. I heard that LPS love Radiums more than the Phoenix bulb. Do you know if thats true?

Can't say for sure. My LPS seem to be doing the same as they were when they were under Radium. Maybe someone else that has used both can chime in too.

I run 3 14k phoenix 250w on my 180 and back them up with 4 160w vho 2 supers and 2 75/25. I havent run the radium but id never go back to ushio

I recently switched over to acan led lighting, enjoy the colors they put out. .but i do miss my halides / and the shimmer over the tank

ATI all the way, The Sky is the limit with bulb combo's with lower heat and better colors. Reefbrite makes LED strips that are an awesome addition to the ATi fixtures. I added one to mine and it looks like it belongs there.

I have been a T-5 fan from the start so my vote would be the ATI. With that said I am now looking into the LED world so we'll see how my tests come out in the few months ahead.
