I am thinking about ordering a Giesemann MAtrixx ii 8x54w fixture. The fixture comes with bulbs so I need to pick out a bulb combo. Anyone have experience with these bulbs and different combinations? I am looking to get a nice balance of blue/white. I do not want an overly blue tank.

Let see if we can't find you and answer... [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG]

Sorry, wish I could help. I run LED lights

@shred5 if I recall you run a Giesmann T5 unit, could you share your experience?

I just posted this in another thread:

I run Geisemann lamps not in order.

2 actinic blues

2 super actinics

1 aquablue-coral

1 super purple

I am not a fan of the look of the purple but my corals seem to love them so I am afraid to switch it out..

I really like the aquablue-coral and I really want to try the azure. I am thinking of switch a purple for the Azure but again my corals really like the purple lamp it seems.

The tropic would be like running the GE 6500k t-5 lamps.. They are great for growth but really green...

The bulbs go something like this:

Probably something like this:

AquaBlue Coral = ATI aquablue special.

Actinic Blue = ATI blue plus

Super actinic = ATI True actinic

Super purple = ATI purple plus

Tropic = GE 6500 K lamps

Aquablue azure = nothing

Any how I have been loving these new Giesemann lamps...

AquaBlue Coral = ATI aquablue special.
Tropic = GE 6500 K lamps

Nope, the spectral outputs of the Aquablue Coral lamp matches the ATI Coral Plus almost exactly, and the Aquablue Azure is similar to the Aquablue Special. The Tropic also has more green and less blue than the GE Starcoat 6500K.

Ack yea aquablue coral is the closer to the coral + but the look is less red than the coral + ..

The Ge lamps I use on my frag tanks are really green/yellow. I am going by look...

Aquablue Azure has more blue and less red and less green looking at the charts than aquablue special.. I have never seen the Azure in person. By the description is sounds more like a kz new generation. To bad the azure lamps wasn't in that.
