Hey everyone.

The time has come that my gig is getting too big for the tank and need some opinions on what to do.

I’m thinking of either removing and placing in a new smaller tank. Rearrange rock somehow so that it’s not near coral and can stop killing pieces around it. And WORST case scenario come to the hard decision to sell which I am trying to avoid.

If I stay with the current tank can anyone think of a way to move things around to look nice and keep the nem seperate. I’ll even buy some new rock if I had to.

Thanks for the help

New smaller tank may be your best option- 40 breeder would be the minimum size. Add a couple of clowns and you have a little world

I think if you build your rock up on either side and then keep the gig in the middle you can have your sps grow over without touching. I did something similar with mine (15-16" gig). You can see the rockwork in my build thread. If not, I second getting a second tank. That gig should stay with you as long as you stay in hobby! It's a beauty!

Ok, quick update for those curious and those who have reached out for purchase.

I ended up purchasing a new tank for the nem! I went with a IM 40aio. Right not I just have the carpet and my clowns. Thinking of adding another gig if I can find a purple one or bright green. Perhaps I can splurge a little bit and get a Colorado sunburst. I also threw in some dragons breath since I will have no tangs in this tank.

Speaking of fish I think the only thing I may add is a aiptasia eating file or 1 or 2 other small fish. I think I can also start adding some decorative shrimp that I have always been wanting.

decisions decisions…

That's the way to go! Get a couple more gigs! I banished my bubbles to another tank just to avoid any potential alleopathy. Just the gig and the ritteri now. I have a anemone crab that hangs out in mine and shares with the clowns
