Just curious on everyone's thoughts about gill flares on designer clowns? I know its not great, I get that but a couple of the articles I was reading didn't really seem to care about it; yet others saw it as a huge knock on the quality of the fish. What are your thoughts and what causes it, inbreeding?

Thanks

I breed clowns and cull about 1/3% due to gill flare. I don't mean a temporary flared gill due to exhaustion. I mean, the gills are completely exposed and the fish has no chance of a normal life. Normally, this type of genetic defect also result in a triangular shaped head too.
