Gimmito's 450 Gal L-Shaped Display

photo-123.jpg

A pic of my dirty tank (sheetrock dust gets every where and I didn't feel like climbing in there to clean it). I got a chance to make a pvc frame for the rock scaping. As soon as I get my light rack from Gen I can start installing the lights and going to town w/the rock !

Any ideas on putting the light racks on a actuator or pulley system ?

Looking very clean and precise.
I love to see plumbing that is thought out and not just thrown together.

I was watching another thread here on Reef2Reef where he had an actuator for his lights. I don't remember which one, but I liked the idea. If I can find it I will send you a PM with the link.

Thanks for keeping us up to date!
Happy Turkey Day!!

Steve

Looking great! I have seen actuators used for lights and it was really cool but it has been so long I really don't remember how it was done.

Thanks guys.

Steve that's actually Ian, who belongs to my reef club. I'll have to pick his brain about the actuators.

Have a good Turkey Day also....don't eat too much !

Choice Jim. I like how you can put your chaeto compartment before the skimmer compartment because your skimmer is fed from your overflow. Want to see that skimmer in action though...have you fine tuned the gph going to the skimmer yet?

Nice that one pump runs the whole prop tank...

Scott,

I'm going to tweak the plumbing tommorow and try and dial in the skimmer. Gen is making some black acrylic frag racks for me and should be ready tommorow. I'm also looking into buying a used Maristar mh/t5 fixture for the frag tank. What do you think ?

Jim

It's going to be great...what's not to like?

BTW: Went to DL with the kids for the weekend, and I couldn't get my butt to socaltropical. Instead we picked up a black Lab puppy from a nearby Socal rescue group foster. We adore the dogs, but they cost far more than my reef habit...perfect smoke screen, no? ;)

I just picked up a Maristar 4 foot 2x250 w/halide/t5 combo from H20player. I just need a hanging kit and I'm good to go. :xd:
