tank is nine months

Alk stays between 9-10
Calcium usually 430
Mag 1300

Nitrates are very low, .02 I think
Phosphates undetectable.

My coral was once thriving, and bright. However in the last two months I have heavily overdosed hydrogen peroxide, (started using the product vibrant, which I also overdosed first use). My tank also dropped down to around 68-70 degrees overnight, also recently added a flame angel. So my cora has been through a lot, im still new ha. Most of my coral has lost color (turned brown, or white) not sending out its feeders during the day like they use to, acans aren't puffing up, candy cane is no longer full and relaxed as often as it was. Did I kill all my zooanthelle? Did the cold greatly effect them? Any ideas what to look for or do please.

No phosphates no nitrates = no food. those are nutrients dissolved in the water column the coral absorbs,
I recall you were dosing peroxide. that dissolves organics. that's solid food for corals.

Um, stability? That temp drop though. I wouldn't buy another coral, until I had the temp under better control. I also agree with salty about nutrients. They don't need overload, they need just enough. It's tough at first to get it figured out, but when you do, you really do.

young tanks are tough.

They just all declined so quickly, that I think it was one or a couple particular reasons. As far as temp control I have a heater hooked up to my RKL, so temp is usually very stable. Except for when the house drops down to 50 degrees, the heater was working hard to keep up, it was just to cold in there. I've been trying to bring my PO4 and NO3 up as well. Will these corals eventually come back around?

I agree with both the above guru's. No traits or phates=no good. Need both in low quantities to keep your corals happy, the days of pristine water are behind most of the serious reefers these days. As for the temp, you need to keep it solid +- 2 degrees, temp swings are stressful..
As for the Angel, I would keep an eye in it as well, they can be nippers....

Probably maybe dunno. I have some candy canes I've been killing for about two almost three years now. Theyre totally happyy now.
I've had a few acros I made into an alge covered bone and for some reason they're great no Most would call them ugly but theyre growing and the beauty was figuring it all out.
Really I think I'm just learning for my next tank and it's just conicedence these are starting to do well.

It ain't easy.

Yeah, I guess coral can only withstand so much abuse. I'll nurse them back. Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate the input. And twilliard what do you mean I don't want phosphates turning into nitrates?
