I have a 20 gallon high tank and am trying to grow softies and lps so I’m open to recommendations(P.S. don’t suggest a light that you wouldn’t have been able to pay for when you were 17:))

Nicrew Hypereef 50w, one puck design.
Or
Nicrew Hypereef 100w, two puck design turned down, but capable of SPS if you change your mind.
Right spectrum, right intensity, right price.
Below is 150w three puck design. 38C928B6-9F79-4C67-BAD0-264507657636.jpeg

that looks pretty awesome

Agree with the Nicrew Hyper Reef. I have the 100W version over a 20 long and growing LPS very well. I also have 2 x 100W over a 48" 120 with a Haddoni anemone, LPS, and some SPS, all doing well.

I would look at the AI Prime 16. They will require a bit of saving, but it is better to buy quality once rather than having to buy new stuff, because you did not get something right the 1st time. In fairness, I have only used the AI Prime and the Kessil AP700. The AP700 or its successor - would probably break you budget (800+ per new). I like teh AI Prime - that will be my light on any new tank I build.
