So we have a 180g reef tank, and currently have a 6 bulb t5 on it, and then had a kessel 350w. IDK if anyone has seen, but I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and we just had a Derecho hit and basically destroy our city. During that, I'm guessing when the power went out, the Kessel took a dump. We have power back now (after 12 days...) and I've tried dusting it off, repluggin/plugging back in, and it's not working.

The space we nee to cover the rest of the tank is abut a foot/foot and a half big, it's 1/3 of the tank. What other type of lights would you recommend just for that section? Just looking for some suggestions since I now have to purchase a different light anyway. I have a couple frog spawns and a duncan on that side, and then zoas.

I lost my Aussie gold torch during the powerless days :( and my bright green mushrooms.

I feel for you. We got home from vacation and out AC had died (remember, I'm in SW Florida). Over the next few days I tried to keep water temps down, but they did hit 87 at the peak and spent too much time at 85 & 86. The only thing I lost was my biggest sps a green slimmer!

So, are you looking for a single source led or a basic led, or something different? As a cheap and easy way, I'd suggest a Mars Aqua led fixture.

Good luck.

For me i like the kessil A360WE. You can pick up a used one at a reasonable rate typically ($200) and they do a good job.

Definitely check the power adapter first on your light.

Do you have a budget? That's always the best step to take first. You can get a great array of lighting with something like the Ocean Revive T247 for $150 each, or you can get a bunch of XR30 pros for $840 each.
