This scape will be going into a up & running mixed reef tank that is getting a rock scape make over ,, some current rock ,, a few pieces will be used in the new scape ,, has corals on the rock and I don’t want to frag them off their current rock,, I will chip away as much of that rock as I can ,,

I like the caves and the pieces in the front. It has great depth and lots of spots for coral placement. I am more of a minimalist and to me it seems like a lot of rock. Your tastes may be different. The only thing I would critique in that case is the top along the length of the tank seems a bit too even. Most of the little peaks hit the same horizontal plane.

Sorry, just reread some... if you are laying chiseled rock rubble on the top with your current corals, that should vary the height well.

Like NY_Caveman said, by itself it would need more variances in height between the different peaks. Since you are adding other rock, it should be good....although without seeing the finished product it will be hard to give anything really helpful. Make sure you post pics of the finished aquascape :)!

I think it looks fine although I would agree with @NY_Caveman in that 'the top along the length of the tank seems a bit too even. Most of the little peaks hit the same horizontal plane' so is it a natural look ?

Its your tank and of course we all have different ways of doing things, but there is nothing wrong with it at all, very nice. Loads of caves and things for this fish to hide in and sleep and plenty of room for coral placement.

Thanks for the input ,,, It would be easier to do in the tank ,, give me a bit more realistic perspective ,,, My current tank has way too much rock in it ,,, for me this is minimal :) I continually have nitrate problems ,, I am sure the sand bed under all that rock is the problem ,, since I want to clean that sand bed anyway ,, thought I would come back with some new rock ,, less rock ,, keep that sand bed a bit more open ,,, make the scape more SPS friendly ,,

I am working on adding some height to the whole structure ,,, people have told me ,, since my tank is 25" tall ,, I need to have the scape in the 16 to 18 inch height range ,, just no way that is happening ,, I have added height to the pic's I have posted now ,, I am only in the 12 to 13 inch range :( I will put some effort into incorporating more peaks into that top line,, its going to be hard to achieve lol that one piece of rock ,, the long center one in the top middle ,, I like that rock for mounting SPS corals on ,, the down side ,, it takes up a lot of space across the top line ,, its a lot of ,,, even across the top line ,,, maybe I can work on getting " my favorite rock " down to the second tier level in my structure ,, that might work out good ,, would make the SPS corals easier to see as they grow out ,,,

Ok ,, back at it ,, I will post more pics when I have changed it some :)

Not much different than the first ,, moved my favorite rock down to tier two ,, tried to had a bit oh height & and break up that level top line a bit,,
