Hello All,

This is my first post here on reef 2 reef. As all of us get so much joy as a community from what the ocean has given us. I have been thinking of what us as a community or as individuals, can do to help our oceans and reefs. Let’s have a conversation on what we can do. Wether it be the smallest of steps or the biggest of changes.

There's only one thing we can do, buy aquacultured only. I love corals and my tank and I'm happy to say that 100% of my corals and fish are home grown in the US.

Sometimes I walk in the a lfs and see huge colonys and it makes me so sad because I know that softball size coral going for $200 took years of growth with all the odds stacked against it just to get to that size.

OK rant over, I'm no Saint either some of my inverts I know can't be breed in captivity so must be wild caught and that's sad too.

Theres been alot of new info pouring out about our natural reefs struggling, missed spawning events, mass bleaching, new diseases and so on they are definitely telling us something but hey that new wild acro has crazy colors right?
