GLA Supplements for raising Nitrate and Phosphate

My system is about 250 gallons and I have been trying to keep my Nitrate and Phosphate above 0 for a few weeks now. I started dosing with Brightwell Neophos and Neonitro and I am finally getting readings above 0. I started dosing slow to introduce these products slowly and I moved up the dosage over some time. I can see that I am going to need to continue wit dosing to reach and maintain my target readings of 5-10 ppm for the nitrate and .03-.07 for the phosphate. I want to make my own dosing supplements using the GLA products and was looking for advice from you folks on how you mix it and how you dose it compared to the brightwell products. I looked at their calculators and just want to see if people are using different ratios.

I would need this for the Nitrate:

How are you going to balance the potassium?

There are hundreds of commercial foodmixes available to raise larvae and algae. For example for making Von Stoch or Guillard solutions. My favorite is an A and B solution. Two-part formulas, A and B. A is without nitrogen, phosphorus and silica. B contains the missing substances. The A formula is ideal for stimulating growth in algae filters when there is too much nitrogen and phosphorus. You can use B and then only add nitrogen (NaNO3) or phosphorus (NaH2PO4 H2O) depending on the desired result. When using Von Stosch medium, we can easily adjust the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus because each nutrient is stored separately in a stock solution. This is a very old thread brought back to life, but I do not recommend potassium nitrate for boosting nitrate.

My recommendations are:

For N

Ammonium bicarbonate or chloride, sodium nitrate, or calcium nitrate. All food grade products.

For P

Any form of sodium phosphate (except sodium tripolyphosphate).
