I have have 3 salt water tanks in the last 10 years. I'm wheelchair bound and always loved my tanks, but it was hard to get to reach the bottom of the tank or to reach the hang on back stuff for maintenance. So for Christmas my husband bound my a 48x12x12 reef ready tank and he built a stand so it;s the right height for me to wrk onit from my power wheelchair. He build a pull out drawer that houses the sump, skimmer, ATO, and wavemaker as well as dry food, few tools, refrac etc. Now I can love it and not get frustrated about not being able to maintain it well. I love watching my fish and corals! They definitely help when the pain is really bad to distract me!

There's quite a few on this forum with differing degrees of limitations. It's interesting to see how everyone adapted.

Welcome to R2R! I'd love to see some pictures of how you did this as well. What a great husband :)

Pics please......... better yet maybe a Youtube vid fro the pull out drawer, that on it's own will be revolutionary to this hobby.

Welcome, I totally believe that you need to stay plugged into life and do something that brings you some happiness and keeps you from dwelling on the pain. I know it is hard because the pain does not go away but you are focused on something else for a while and that alone gives you some relief...Nitro
