has anyone used them and what did you think? i got a quote and it was priced right, but i have heard good and bad things.....what do you guys have to say about them? :ooh:

I have heard mixed reviews, mainly that there silicone work is very sloppy, but nothing you can't fix with a razor!

I wouldn't do it. Several members of my local forum have had nothing but bad experiences to report. I have seen their work firsthand and it isn't anything to write home about. What size tank are you pricing?

I would be interested in two cheap tanks if any one has a good price main tank, sump and a frag tank if any one builds and can ship id be interested.

im looking at getting a 189 galloon tank built. it is 67" x 26" x 25" tall. the price was right but i wanted to get some reviews.

If you are getting a tank that big built I would not go with glass-cages, i'd get it done by a reputable company... That would be a huge mess if it was to blow a seam!

I had two people come into a store I worked at who's tanks just released a seam and dumped the whole tank. One was even sitting in the next room and ran in to see the last half of the tank drain onto their hardwood floors. They were both told by glass cages that since they bought a pre-manufactured stand that was not built by glass cages that they voided their warranty. The other major complaint I hear is that delivery is a terror. Most times they schedule a pick up at a certain place, will change it at the last second and if you arent there at the exact time they want you then you are just SOL. Like others have said, I would spend a few extra bucks for a nicer tank and some piece of mind!

I just ordered a rimless frag (24x24x12 starfire front) tank from them today. I read alot about there customer service over the phone was horrible, but I was very pleased with the service sence i called 3xday to ask questions, and they were extremly polite. I will be picking the tank up on June 19th, so I can't speek for there workmanship yet. I was in desperate need of a frag tank and everywhere else I checked the price was double, so I figured I would give them a shot.

My display tank and frag tank are both from Glass Cages. My display is a 280 deep (72"x36"x25"). My frag tank is 48"x24"x8". I have had no problems with either of them. The display has been in place since November of 2007 and the frag tank since last April of last year. Yes their silicone work is sloppy. But it is nothing a razor blade can't fix. That being said I do know someone who had a 8 foot Glass Cages tank split. But I also know someone who had a brand new Marineland tank split. Face it - it is a leap of faith when you put a large glass box full of water and held together by silicone in our homes. I've been very satisfied with their tanks.

I hope I haven't just jinxed myself

they stink on both glass and acrylic. Silicon job looks like a 5 year got ahold of a tube. Waves of dried silicon all over the seem. The acrylic is even worst. rough cut and filled with weldon 16 as they slop it all the over the seam. Both tank made their way to be reptile tanks/. Pile excrement . save ur money and go with someone who is reputable and NOT a huge list of people who hate GC job

My previous 110 was a GC tank. Couldn't beat it for the price. Looked no better/worse than your average LFS tank.
