Hello, I have a 120 gallon Glass Cage tank and it is 3 years old. I thought it would be a good tank when I ordered it, but I have grown to not like it at all as it has two huge overflows, large uro bracing along with a center brace. I will stick with it until it leaks which I learned at MACNA will be sooner then later.
So I was wondering, what is some of the others experiences been out there?

4 custom tanks from them including a 120 and current 300.
None leaked. 300 been in for 7 yrs now.
Craftsmanship is not all that great but tanks have never leaked. Cheaper on custom made than any other company.
If you are looking for just OK tank they are not bad.

Last spring, I was collecting bids on a 140g custom tank, rimless, 60"x30"x18". GlassCages was one that I spoke to. Price on the glass wasn't terrible, but shipping put it way out of reach. Read a thread on here about some quality problems... no, thanks. I looked at some of the top shelf companies, but couldn't justify the price. Came down to two companies, Planet Aquarium, and CustomAquarium.com. Prices were close, and reasonable... Planet Aquarium had the one negative of having to work through a 3rd party vendor... they don't sell to the public. Aside from that, theirs was the most attractive package. I went that way... and am _very_ happy I did. Excellent quality, edges look great, silicone was very well done, it was _exactly_ what the drawing I sent them specified... Love it.

Note: ALL silicone sealed glass tanks will fail eventually. No way around it, but a well built aquarium on a proper foundation should provide several decades of service.

I was at MACNA this past week and spoke with the Planet Rep, and he told me i would have to go through a 3rd party. But I got to say, I thought their tanks as well as Reef Savvy's Tanks look great.

I talked to Reef Savvy as well. Walked away from them based purely on cost. Reef Savvy makes awesome tanks, but they exceeded my budget. I don't know... perhaps the quality would have been that much better, but I don't see how it could have been.

Aside from the frustration of dealing through a 3rd party, my Planet Aquarium build was everything I could have asked for. Now... the 3rd party I was dealing with was a local aquarium shop, the guy that ran it is a friend, and he didn't care that I knew what his profit margin was... I was able to see the quotes from Planet Aquarium directly, and compose responses myself. Even sent a measured drawing of hole placement. It was a pain, even with the middle man being a guy I know pretty well. Through a shop with lesser customer service? I don't think I could have dealt with the frustration.
