hey guys and gals just picked up a 125g glass tank thats been in storage for awhile, what can i use to clean the glass before i start to set up?? dont want to leave any residue behind that may harm fish
thanks
David

I just used a combination of water and vinegar filled it to the rim let it run three days all the equipment I was going to use was in there and running, everything wiped right off when I was done.

Agreed - try just water first. If you're lucky that's all there will be to it. Adding vinegar may be necessary for any tough spots. Vinegar residue will not hurt anything even if you still smell it.

Good luck!

I would use water first and give it a thorough rinse and scrub with a nylon brush. With a larger tank like that I would use vinegar in a spray bottle to hit tough spots and then rinse/scrub again. Any vinegar residue will not hurt the fish.

thanks guys tank cleaned swap items over from 90g top off with new salt water, little cloudy all looks good, will post pics once tank clears up

Tank looks great. You can also use rodi water to clean the glass It works great.

i hate that i can see the plumbing in back of tank, but the upside i can see fishes and all from all sides,

Have you thought of adding a sump? You would be able to remove a lot of the equipment from the display if you did.

loooks great salt125newbee ! you live pretty close to me im in melbourne nice 2 meet ya, i would have to agree with seahorsekeeper, invest in a sump ! u can do it on a budget too if you custom make one out of an old 20 or 35 gallon tank thats what i did. and it'll make for a healthier tank too! happy reefin'
