Has anyone found anything that is a lot better for cleaning the inside glass/acrylic of a tank? My magnet just isn't cutting it, I got a long stick thing with a white pad at the end and that isn't all that great either. I need something more like a scraper but am afraid it will scratch something.

The KENT scrapers work great and they have the yellow blade for glass and red for acrylic, they even have a padded blade.

For a glass tank the Tunze care magnets work great. I wouldn't use one on an acrylic tank through. They say they can be used on acrylic without the metal blade, but I know a tank badly scratched by one.

Filpper is great but it tends to loose its scrubbing pad side capability for two months of use.

My mag-float scrape works just fine.
Had the Mag float with out the scraper, bought the Tunze and did not get the effect of what I wanted. Bought the scraper for the Mag float and I am no happy. I have glass

I would be extremely cautious on using anything more than something made specifically for acrylic on an acrylic tank. On glass I like the mag float scrapers for removing hard algae. For cleaning an old tank that's easy to get into you can try one of the blue scouring pads made to not scratch teflon or glass. The best thing to do on a glass tank is to clean the glass at least every other day. That way the algae is removed before it gets too hard or thick.

There are a lot of plastic scrapers available these days, but before we them, many used a old credit card on acrylic tanks.

I use a plastic handled utility knife blade holder taped to a wood dowel to clean the algae off my glass tank, that the magnet scraper doesn't get.

Thanks everyone I ordered a kent scraper to try. I have a magnet scrapper already, it does the light stuff but leaves specks.

I found a place called "Mighty Magnets" they have magnet cleaners for thick acrylic tanks as well. I got the algae scrub and man it takes it off. they also sell kits to get rid of scratches with out having to drain the tank.
