bought a used 125 gal. tank. It has some water stains on the glass. I have the glass cross(middle) braces soaking in vinegar for a day now. I've tried pure vinegar with scrubbing sponge. I've tried a Mr. Clean magic eraser. And nothing is getting the glass clean. same with the inside of the aquarium.

I saw Bar Keepers Friend does a great job on shower glass. Any one else try it or have some other ideas???

I've used toilet cleaner in the past. It's thick so it stays put. Like CLR you have to make sure it is fully washed off.

Razer didn't work. I did find a video from another aquarium dude that did use the Bar Keepers Friend and showed it worked great. I'm gonna stop on my way home from FH and get some. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon my glass will be clean and clear. I'll post results.

Bleach will disinfect it but won't touch the hard water build up. Don't mix bleach with other cleaners. Many mixtures will result in Chlorine gas.

it must be etched or something other than mineral base. The bar Keepers Friend didn't work either.

Once the glass is wet the "stains" disappear so we will see what happens.

Bar keepers friend worked on my windshield when it was all gunked up by winter salt when I purchased it used. Nothing else would take the film off it.

Yes, I also bought a used 125 just a few months ago. I used
Griot's Garage 11063 Glass Polish - 8 oz. to polish the glass....after a few hours of polishing it looks almost new. Just two or three scratches remain, and I think I could of gotten them out with a little more work on them....but it shines like new glass.....very nice.

Go on Amazon.com and search Glass Polish It works great, better than anything else you can use....power drill, polish pad and glass polish

The 8 oz. bottle was more than enough to do my tank and make it look new. Or you can use the Cerium Oxide if you have scratches to remove, but the polish worked for me.

I should of taken before and after photos of my tank....maybe next time

From your photo I think the polish would be enough and you wouldn't need to use the scratch remover....just the polish like I used.
