Glass Heater in DT

For those who don't have a sump, do you put a guard on the heater, wondering whether there is any risk it gets hot enough to pose a risk to inhabitants, fish, anemones etc

I have 2 in my tank....no guards....no issues.

I would never put a glass heater in DT personally. In addition to always seeming to fail on, they also break.

I use 2x Eheim glass heaters in my DT (no sump).
No guards,,, urchin/snails crawl all over them with no issues.
*I run at 77 degrees but don't think it matters even if you run higher temps

My snail's tend to clean mine regularly, pretty sure they are safe without a gaurd
