Glass instead of acrylic. Need help

For a tank that is 30"long by 18" wide and 12" deep what kind of glass should I use

Personally I would use 1/4" glass as your dimensions are similar to a 40 breeder.

Do you need those exact dimensions? A $40 breeder that is same but 36" is only $50 bucks at pet Co dollar per gallon sale. Glass will cost more than that.

thats the same as a 29 gallion only the height and width are switched. i think you may prefer low iron glass because it is clearer. never built a tank before but have always considered it, just could never find a source for glass that was cheaper than buying a tank.

1/4 inch looks thicker than the glass in my 29 so i think you would be good going with 1/4 inch

Just a heads up
Every glass place I've ordered glass from charges same for 3/16 and 1/4, just ask them.

I think I'm just going to go with a 20 long it's shallow enough and has enough space for a frag tank

You want Starfire Glass for the front and sides. If you plan on drilling the bottom, don't get tempered.
