Glass Lids Block Light

Hey, I have two glass lids on my 75 gallon reef tank. The black band in the middle of the glass lids blocks a small portion of light. Anything I can do about this? Or does anyone know of any good lids that don't have that black connecting band in the middle?

Same on my 180. A lot of people to go mesh or screen tops. There are kits online to make it easy.
