I have glass lids on my 125. I was wondering if I should have one lid open to allow for better gas and oxygen exchange. I do have a powerhead pointed at the surface.
I have four wrasses. Two are leopards. Worried about those two being jumpers.
My issue with a mesh top would be a lot of salt creep and water splashing. It’s bad enough with glass.

I personally do not run them. I have a canopy and have added covers in the past made of screen material. I do not get much salt creep, but if i do it is far less work than keeping the glass clean. Personal preference is to not have glass.

Nobody is answering the most important question. Am I getting enough gas/oxygen exchange with the lids closed and a powerhead aimed towards the surface.

If the kid completely covers the top then I would say you probably aren’t getting gas/oxygen exchange unless you’re running a skimmer 24/7 too.

Screen tops are great and don’t get a lot of salt creep. I will say prepare to top off a lot more though
