Hey guys has anyone ever used the glass lily pipes for a reef Aquarium before that y'all know of? I love the sleek style and design of them and I feel like they would work for a reef!

Pretty popular choice with nano tanks, matched up with a Hydor in-line heater to keep everything out of the display.
What do they do? I've not seen these before.

I havent used them on a reef yet. I love the look just keep in mind what needs to be done while in use. Good planning should work well. Clogging will be at a minimum and not much to worry since it is a constant flow through the pipe. Algae and coraline will eventually grow and simple maintence will keep them from clogging. Get some good pipe cleaners and once in a while soak the entire lily pipe into cleaning solution offered for marine aquariums to eliminate built up coraline. The nano aquariums I've seen with the lily pipe look great. Give it a try and let post setup. I'm sure everyone would like to see them on a nano.
They're the in-flow and out-flow for a canister filter.
From the original post, the glass pipe on the left carries water back into the display and the pipe on the right brings water from the display into the canister filter.
Hi.
I used them for a while.
I was running my 5g tank with an Eheim 2224 with Lily pipes.
This combination doubled my tank water volume but afterall there was too less flow.
I had to clean the pipes quite often but they worked well.
Best Ben
U need to figure out how to keep siphon alive without using a canister. I've tried but I just don't trust it. As soon as you lose siphon, your pump will overflow the dt tank with sump capacity and flood your floors.
Buy a mame overflow. It has the beauty of glass pipes and doesn't loose siphon.
Trust me I love the Mame overflow but the price is too expensive! Do you have it?
