Glass marked or etched

Hey guys just wondering if anyone can tell me how in the world this horizontal line came to be on this tank
So strange

I bought the tank second hand
And i cleaned with vinegar
Bar keepers friend etc
Decided to fill it up thought maybe water was sitting at that level for to long with the previous owner and will dissapear itself

Just wondering if anyone know what it could be from and any way to clean it without emptying the tank again

If i have to empty it again to try clean, ill just "name" it and get used to it lol

Or if anyone can think of something i can cover it up with ? Was thinking maybe a frag rack eventually but open to suggestions

Do you mean the change from dark to lighter on the back of the tank? Or a line at the water surface at the front?

That's what I thought was at the back of the tank. My mistake.

When you cleaned the tank, or after you cleaned the tank, did you try using a very sharp blade on the glass?

I had a tank that the water line at the surface appeared etched. But with a good blade it did scrape clean.

HD and Lowes sell plastic handle wallpaper scrappers that use replaceable 3" or 4" wide blades.

Use a old credit card. It wont scratch the glass. Best thing ever.
